Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational Therapists complete assessments and plan customised interventions to address a broad range of barriers.



People living with a disability may be referred to Occupational Therapy to help in areas such as:

  • Personal self-care (dressing, eating, bathing, toileting)
  • Gross motor skills (larger body movements using arms, legs, feet)
  • Fine motor skills (smaller body movements)
  • Motor planning skills (thinking through and carrying out a non-habitual motor act in the correct sequence from beginning to end (such as handwriting, concentrating, or social skills, organisation).

People may also need Occupational Therapy after a severe fall, injury, accident or loss of limbs. Or, is they suffer from chronic health issues or other illnesses such as Cerebral Palsy and require alternative methods for achieving everyday activities.

Our Occupational Therapy services are available for individuals with:

  • Developmental delays
  • Intellectual disabilities
  • Autism spectrum disorders
  • Dyspraxia
  • ADHD – Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Brain or other acquired injuries
  • Sensory impairments
  • Learning difficulties.

Services include assessment and therapy sessions for difficulties with:

  • Fine-motor skills
  • Gross-motor skills
  • Mobility and school transitions
  • Motor planning and coordination
  • Sensory processing
  • Visual processing.

Services and outcomes include:

  • Qualified Assessment of motor skills, sensory processing skills, mobility and functional skills
  • Collaboration with other professionals, communication partners, family members, carers, teachers and support workers to ensure a holistic, person-centred approach is provided
  • Flexible sessions at home, school, day programs, or in our offices
  • Carer education and support
  • Recommendations for equipment to support a person in their home, school, day program or the community.
